Every year, this disaster occurs, causing damage and loss of life. In addressing this risk, disaster mitigation efforts involve the government and the community. The role of Youth Organizations is crucial in this context, as they are part of a generation with great potential in reducing the impact of disasters. This study aims to explore the influence of Youth Awareness on landslide disaster mitigation in North Tapanuli Regency.

Background

Disaster mitigation is a preventive step that needs to be taken to prevent or minimize the impact of disasters, such as landslides. Youth Organizations, consisting of the younger generation, have the capacity to spread information, educate the community, and facilitate mitigation programs. This study uses a quantitative approach, employing tests and distribution of questionnaires as measurement instruments. The data collected was analyzed using multiple regression techniques and F testing to assess the influence of the awareness of Youth Organization members on mitigation efforts.

Therefore, it is essential for the government and the community to support education and training programs for Youth Organization members to increase their awareness. By increasing their knowledge and involvement in disaster mitigation, we can reduce the risks caused by landslides and protect the people of North Tapanuli Regency from these dangers.
