Introduction

In today's fast-paced business environment, employee performance is a crucial factor in determining the success of an organization. PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan, a leading financial institution in Indonesia, is no exception. The bank's ability to provide excellent services to its customers depends heavily on the performance of its employees. Therefore, it is essential to identify the factors that influence employee performance and develop strategies to improve it.

This study aims to investigate the effect of the effectiveness of the application of the Accounting Information System (SIA), the use of technology, ease of access, and the competence of Human Resources (HR) on employee performance at PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan. By understanding the role of these factors, the bank can develop targeted strategies to improve employee performance and achieve higher business targets.

Methodology

This study involved 57 employees from a total of 65 questionnaires distributed. The data was collected using a descriptive statistical analysis method, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis tests consisting of coefficient of determination (adjusted R2), F test, and T test. The data was analyzed to identify the relationship between the variables and to determine the significance of the findings.

Results

The results of this study showed that partially, the variable Ease and Competency of HR had a significant influence on employee performance. This means that the easier access and the higher the competence of HR, the higher the performance of employees at PT Bank Muamalat, Medan City. On the other hand, the variable Effectiveness of the application of SIA and Utilization of technology affects employee performance, but is not significant. This shows that although SIA and technology have an important role, other factors such as ease of access and HR competencies have a more dominant influence on employee performance at PT Bank Muamalat, Medan City.

Why does HR Ease and Competency have a significant effect?

Ease of access to integrated information and systems allows employees to work more efficiently and effectively. Easy and rapid access to relevant data and information helps employees in proper decision making and responsive to customer needs. In addition to ease of access, high HR competencies are the main key in improving employee performance. Competent employees have the ability to understand, operate, and develop the SIA and technology used. They can use it optimally to achieve performance targets and provide the best service to customers.

Strategy to improve employee performance at PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan

Based on the findings of this research, PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan can improve employee performance with a focus on two main aspects:

Increasing ease of access and competency of HR

Investment in HR training and development to improve competence in operating SIA and technology is a top priority. In addition, it is necessary to consider the development of a more user-friendly system and easily accessible by all employees.

Strengthening the role of SIA and Technology

Although the influence is not significantly partial, SIA and technology remain an important factor in improving employee performance. PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan needs to continue to increase the effectiveness of the application of SIA and the use of technology to support more efficient and integrated business processes.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of HR ease and competency in improving employee performance at PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan. The findings of this study suggest that the bank should focus on increasing the ease of access and HR competencies, as well as continuing to develop the effectiveness of SIA and technology. By implementing these strategies, the bank can encourage improvement in employee performance and achieve higher business targets.

Recommendations

Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:

PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan should invest in HR training and development to improve competence in operating SIA and technology.
The bank should consider developing a more user-friendly system and easily accessible by all employees.
PT Bank Muamalat Kota Medan should continue to increase the effectiveness of the application of SIA and the use of technology to support more efficient and integrated business processes.

This study has several limitations. Firstly, the sample size is relatively small, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. Secondly, the study only focuses on the effect of HR ease and competency on employee performance, and does not consider other factors that may influence employee performance. Finally, the study is limited to a single case study, which may not be representative of other organizations.
