Introduction

Fatigue testing is a crucial process in understanding the behavior of materials under cyclic loading conditions. Aluminum-magnesium alloys are widely used in various industries due to their excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. However, their fatigue behavior is still not fully understood, especially when subjected to different load variations. This study aims to investigate the fatigue behavior of aluminum-magnesium alloys that have undergone a tempeh process using simulation and testing methods.

Materials and Methods

The test material used in this study consists of 96% aluminum and 4% magnesium, formed through the casting process. The specimens were machined to a diameter of 12 mm and a length of 151 mm. Three load variations were applied to test the fatigue behavior of the material, namely:

Weight load: 11.94 kg with a melted voltage of 59.70 MPa
Medium load: 7.62 kg with a 53.74 MPa melted voltage
Light Load: 5.97 kg with a 45.52 MPa melted voltage

Fatigue testing was carried out using a universal testing machine, while fatigue simulation was done using Ansys 14.5 software.

Fatigue Simulation and Testing Results

The simulation results show that the aluminum-magnesium alloys with a tempeh process have good optimal endurance. The higher the load given, the lower the immaturity of the material. However, the safety factor remains above 1, indicating that the material is still able to withstand the load of the fatty without failure.

Analysis and Conclusion

The simulation and testing results show that aluminum-magnesium alloys with a tempeh process have good optimal endurance. The higher the load given, the lower the immaturity of the material.
