Introduction

However, the financing of these businesses can be a challenge, as many institutions are hesitant to lend to small-scale enterprises due to the perceived risk. PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) is one institution that has taken a proactive approach to financing micro businesses, with a focus on providing support to entrepreneurs who may not have access to traditional financing channels.

Methodology

This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, which combines literature research with field research. By conducting an interview, this research aims to describe the facts in the context of risk management in the PNM Unit Aksara. The study focuses on the application of risk management in micro business financing at PNM, with a particular emphasis on the stages of risk management and the effectiveness of the approach.

Risk Management Stages

The study found that PNM has developed a comprehensive risk management approach, which includes two main stages: pre-risk and post-risk.

Pra-Risk

At this stage, PNM is identifying and analyzing risk systematically. This process includes assessing the feasibility of micro businesses that submit financing, as well as evaluating credit track records and customer payment capacity. With this approach, PNM is trying to minimize risk before financing.

Post-Risk

After financing is given, PNM continues to monitor the performance of the micro business recipient of the loan. If indicated risks such as late payment, PNM immediately intervene to discuss solutions with customers. This step not only reduces the potential loss, but also strengthens the relationship between PNM and customers.

Implementation and Effectiveness

The success of risk management at PNM can be seen from how they have succeeded in reducing the delay in installment payments. With the standard procedures that have been applied, from identifying to controlling every risk, PNM shows maturity in its manager's strategy. This is not only beneficial for the company, but also for the development of micro business, because it ensures the availability of funds needed for business growth.
