SEM and FTIR Analysis Results

Observation results using an electron scanning (SEM) microscope showed that a 1% chitosan solution with high molecular weight stored for 1 day produces the best particle homogeneity. This is because in 1 day storage, chitosan has not experienced significant hydrolysis in acidic solutions.

Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) shows that all typical chitosan functional groups still exist after the process of making nanoparticles. This shows that the process of forming nanoparticles does not damage the basic chemical structure of chitosan.
