One example of success from the application of organic agriculture can be found in Seureuke Village, Langkahan District, North Aceh Regency, which has obtained an organic agricultural certificate for cocoa production from the German Institute for Markecology (IMO) in 2008. The research on the management of cocoa plantations aims to explore the differences in soil fertility and macrofauna between cocoa plantations that are managed organically and inorganically, as well as to analyze the differences in farmers' income based on these management methods.

Research Methodology

The research method used includes laboratory tests and statistical tests. Testing is carried out on soil samples to obtain data on macro elements of the soil (N, P, K, and PH) and macrofauna soil. Farmers' income data were also analyzed by statistical tests (T test).
