Introduction

Medan, a leading telecommunications company in Indonesia.

Employee motivation is a critical aspect of organizational success, as it directly impacts employee productivity, job satisfaction, and overall performance. Counseling activities, which are often carried out to improve employee mental well-being, are considered to have a significant influence on work motivation. This study seeks to prove that counseling activities can increase employee work motivation at PT Indosat Tbk. Medan.

Counseling activities in the workplace are designed to improve employee mental well-being, which in turn can boost employee motivation and productivity. Counseling can help employees manage stress, build confidence, and develop essential skills to perform their jobs effectively. Research Methodology

This study involved 80 employees of PT Indosat Tbk. Medan as a population, and used a total sampling technique for sampling. Data collection methods were carried out through library research and field research. Data analysis used a single table analysis method, cross table analysis, and hypothesis test with the formula for the coefficient of correlation (rank order) by Spearman. All data processing was carried out with the help of the Statistical Product and System Solution (SPSS) application version 15.0.

Research Results

The results of the analysis showed the Spearman correlation coefficient value of 0.540. Based on the Guilford scale, this value indicates a significant relationship between counseling activities and employee work motivation. Furthermore, to test the level of significance of the effect of counseling activity variables (X) on work motivation (Y), this research also utilized SPSS 15.0. The result showed that the strength of the relationship between the two variables is 29%, with the hypothesis received and the relationship is significant.

Additional Analysis and Explanation

From the results of this study, it was clear that counseling activities contributed significantly to increasing employee work motivation. Employee involvement in counseling does not only have an impact on psychological aspects but also creates a more positive work environment. This shows that the company must prioritize counseling activities as part of the employee development program.

The 29% influence found in this study, although not very high, is still an indication that other factors also play a role in work motivation. Factors such as compensation, work environment, and opportunities for self-development also need to be considered by management. Thus, the counseling program can be an integral part of the strategy to increase work motivation, but must be supported by other company policies.

Conclusion

This study succeeded in showing that there was a significant relationship between counseling activities and employee work motivation at PT Indosat Tbk. Medan. This research not only provides insight into the importance of counseling, but also opens up space for further research in a broader context related to employee performance. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for other companies in implementing more effective and holistic employee development programs.
