Introduction

Human resources (HR) are the backbone of any organization, and their success is crucial for the achievement of organizational goals. Every employee in the organization must understand clearly about the tasks, authority, and responsibilities carried out. In this case, work discipline is an important factor that needs to be upheld so that each individual can contribute optimally. One way to realize this discipline is through the implementation of effective supervisory functions.

Supervision functions play a vital role in maintaining employee work discipline. Effective supervision not only monitors performance but also provides motivation and clarifies expectations to employees. A good supervisory function can increase employee work discipline, which is essential for achieving organizational goals. In this study, we aim to examine how much influence the supervisory function has on employee work discipline at PT. Bona Trans Persada Medan Branch.

Methodology

This study was conducted at PT. Bona Trans Persada Medan Branch, and the population studied was all employees of the company. A sample of 20 people was taken, and data collection methods were carried out through a questionnaire and documentation study. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression and was processed using SPSS version 16.0.

Results

The results of this study showed that there was a significant effect between the supervisory function and employee work discipline. The test results showed a significance value (GIS) of 0.023 smaller than α = 0.05. This indicates that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (ha) is accepted. In other words, the supervisory function has a significant impact on the level of employee work discipline at a significance level of 5%.

Analysis of the Coefficient of Determination

The analysis of the coefficient of determination shows that the effect of the supervisory function on employee work disciplines is at 25.5%, which is classified in the medium category. That is, there are still 74.5% of other factors that also influence employee work discipline, which is not identified in this study.

Conclusion

From the results of this study, it can be concluded that a good supervisory function can increase employee work discipline. Effective supervision not only plays a role in monitoring performance but also provides motivation and clarifying expectations to employees. Therefore, companies need to pay attention to this aspect of supervision in order to create a productive and disciplined work environment.

Recommendations

Overall, supervision carried out appropriately can increase employee discipline and commitment. Management needs to ensure that all aspects of supervision are carried out with good transparency and communication, so that employees feel supported and motivated to work in a disciplined manner in achieving company goals.
