The Influence of Work Motivation on the Performance of Posyandu Cadres in the Working Area of the Teluk Nibung Health Center in Tanjung Balai City in 2017
Introduction
Community-based health efforts (UKBM) are crucial in empowering communities and providing basic health services. Posyandu , a form of UKBM, is managed from, by, for, and with the community, aiming to make it easier for them to access basic health services.The performance of Posyandu cadres refers to the roles and responsibilities carried out by cadres in carrying out activities at the Posyandu. However, the results of the field survey show that many of the main tasks that should be carried out by cadres have not been carried out completely. Therefore, this study aims to explore the effect of work motivation on the performance of Posyandu cadres in the working area of the Teluk Nibung Health Center in 2017.
Methodology
The type of research used is the Explanatory Research. The population that became the object of research consisted of all Posyandu cadres in the working area of the Teluk Nibung Health Center, which amounted to 80 people. The sampling method used is the total population, meaning that all cadres in the regional cadre list are included in the study. The statistical test applied is multiple linear regression. The data collected is primary data obtained from direct interviews with respondents using a questionnaire.
Results
The results showed that the performance of Posyandu cadres was in the category of less than 24 people (30.0%), the category was sufficient as many as 35 people (43.8%), and the category was good as many as 21 people (26.3%). In data analysis, a positive influence between the training variables on the performance of Posyandu cadres (p = 0.013) was found. However, other variables such as interests, incentives, awards, and facilities do not show a significant effect on cadre performance.
Discussion
Based on the results of this study, there are several recommendations that need to be considered by related parties. First, sustainable training for cadres is needed to improve their performance. Through this training, cadres will gain better knowledge and skills in carrying out their duties. Second, it is important to give awards to successful cadres in organizing posyandu activities. This award can be a source of motivation for cadres to be more active and responsible for posyandu activities.

Overall, this research underlines the importance of work motivation in improving the performance of Posyandu cadres. By providing appropriate training and appreciation, it is hoped that Posyandu cadres can carry out their duties better and contribute to a more effective public health program. Good management from related parties will also help increase the achievement of health programs in Posyandu.
