Two measuring instruments were employed: the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) designed by Widyanto & McMurran (2004) and a self-report on the negative impacts of internet addiction built by researchers. The IAT is a widely used tool to assess internet addiction, while the self-report questionnaire was designed to evaluate the negative impacts of excessive internet use.

The results of the study revealed that 64% (94 students) experienced mild internet addiction, 33% (49 students) at a moderate level, and 3% (5 students) at severe levels. In terms of negative impacts, students with light internet addiction experienced nomophobia (53%, 50 students), while those with moderate level addiction experienced procrastination (53%, 26 students). Notably, students with severe internet addiction experienced 60% procrastination (3 students).
