Introduction

Intensive rice cultivation with the PTT approach can increase rice production and productivity by up to 30%, as well as significantly increase farmers' income.

The optimum model of intensive rice cultivation produced is to plant rice four times a year with rice-rice-paddy-rice-rice planting patterns using a PTT system, especially with an intermittent irrigation system and fertilizer administration according to plant nutrient needs (recommendations for laboratory analysis results with a dose of 100% added probiotics). This model can significantly reduce methane emissions, from 218,826,889.43 kg CH4 to 397,181.03 kg CH4 in 2030.

Sustainability Analysis

The sustainability index of the optimum model of intensive rice cultivation is in the range of 42.84-66.54, which is included in the sufficient category. Statistical test results show that the Rap-Inlasit-IP 400 method is effective for evaluating the sustainability of the application of the optimum model of intensive rice cultivation in technical irrigation rice fields.

Implications

This study provides concrete evidence that intensive rice cultivation with the PTT approach can be a solution to increase food production without sacrificing environmental quality.
