Analysis of the Implementation of Sanitation Clinic Programs in Binjai City in 2004: Challenges and Solutions

Introduction

Sanitation Clinic is a vital program in health development, as it integrates preventive and curative handling of environmental-based diseases. The program aims to provide comprehensive health services to the community, focusing on the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by environmental factors. The respondents consisted of 7 sanitation clinic officers, 7 heads of puskesmas, and 1 head of the Environmental Health Section. The data were analyzed using the content analysis method. The study aimed to identify the challenges and obstacles faced by the Sanitation Clinic Program in Binjai City and to provide recommendations for improving the program's success.

The results of the study showed that there were several obstacles in the implementation of the Sanitation Clinic Program in Binjai City. These challenges can be categorized into three main areas:

Sanitation clinic officers have inadequate educational background, limited facilities and infrastructure, and the absence of operational funds. In addition, the guidelines and technical guidelines of the program are also incomplete. This will improve the quality of health services provided to the community and enhance the effectiveness of the program.

It is necessary to improve policies related to the allocation of funds to support the implementation of the sanitation clinic program. This is very important to improve the quality of health services for the community.

Strengthening Coordination and Cooperation

The importance of increasing coordination and cooperation between various related parties, such as Puskesmas, Health Office, and other relevant agencies, to support the success of the sanitation clinic program.
