The revenue generated from parking tax is used to fund various public services and infrastructure projects in the city. Third, parking taxes are not only beneficial to regional treasury, but also contribute to job creation for people in the city of Medan.

However, there are several obstacles in an effort to optimize parking tax revenue. One of them is the low level of taxpayer awareness to fulfill the obligation to pay taxes. This is a challenge for the Regional Tax Management and Levies Management Agency in increasing tax revenue. Finally, efforts to overcome the problem of taxpayer discipline in paying taxes are the main focus in increasing the effectiveness of parking tax collection.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that the Regional Tax and Retribution Management Agency plays a crucial role in optimizing parking tax revenue in Medan. The agency's efforts to increase public awareness of the obligation to pay taxes have been successful, resulting in a significant increase in parking tax revenue. However, the low level of taxpayer awareness and the problem of taxpayer discipline in paying taxes remain significant challenges that need to be addressed.

Conclusion

Through this analysis, it can be concluded that the role of the Regional Tax and Retribution Management Agency is very important in optimizing parking tax in Medan. The right strategy is needed to increase the awareness and compliance of taxpayers, so that the potential for parking tax can be maximized. Thus, it is expected that parking taxes can make a greater contribution to regional income and community welfare.

Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:
